Research Paper - Spiritual Authority

Posted on May 13, 2008

I’d like to share my research paper submitted for Pastoral Theology.

Excerpt - This experience has led me to examine spiritual authority further. John Chryssavgis insists that, “There is with reference to tradition and spirituality in the Church, no subject more essential and at the same time more often misunderstood than that of authority.” Stephen Crosby suggests that the authority people are most familiar with in the church is positional or delegated authority. This authority is exercised by leaders, pastors, ect. In his book Authority, Accountability, and the Apostolic Movement, Crosby outlines eight distinct levels of authority in God’s kingdom listed by rank. The purpose of this paper is to recognize these levels of authority and build upon my theology of spiritual authority.

If this sparks your interest check out the rest of the paper.

The Call

Posted on May 8, 2008

This post is unique. I hope to start using this blog as a testimony page of the things God is doing in my life and the people around me.

This morning during my quiet time with the Lord, I felt the presence of God and it was heavy. As I continued to worship I stretched out on the floor calling out for more. All of a sudden the phone rings and I contemplated whether or not to answer. As I turned and picked up the phone, I read the caller ID:

The Call I answered and no one replied. The next thing I knew I was back on the floor overwhelmed with his presence. Seconds later my wife called and I was able to share my experience.

I believe God is bringing Revival greater than Pensacola and the great moves of the past. But the question He’s asking is who will answer the call.

Lord, I’ve answered! Use me! Send Revival!
